Brookfield High basketball teams to visit Chillicothe for Thursday scrimmages

CHILLICOTHE — Originally due to have involved the same three schools as last year, Chillicothe High School instead will host only Brookfield's girls' and boys' varsity teams in a preseason basketball "jamboree" this Thursday evening.
With Trenton having switched to home scrimmages against Meadville last Saturday, the starting time of the Brookfield-Chillicothe action has been reset from the event's original planned hour to 6 p.m., Dan Nagel, CHS director of athletics, disclosed Monday.
Under Missouri State High School Activities Association regulations for such events, the teams compete for three 6-minutes quarters with registered officiating in "jamboree" scrimmages.
The girls' action between new BHS head coach Ronnie Sharp's squad and now-veteran CHS coach Darren Smith, the former Meadville boys’ coach, will tip off the evening at 6.
That will be followed by returning Bulldogs coach Carey Davison's outfit getting some preseason reps against Hornets head coach Tim Cool's club, probably starting some time around 7 p.m.
The "jamboree" will be subject to Chillicothe winter sports attendance restrictions. Each participating athlete, coach, or cheerleader – from both the home and visiting schools – is allowed to register up to six persons on a pass list. Only those on the pre-submitted pass list will be allowed entrance.
The admission prices will be $4 for adults and $2 for students.
