Virgil Hamilton, age 73 of Marceline, died Monday, July 25, 2022 at University Hospital in Columbia. Virgil was born in Rothville, Missouri on November 27, 1948 to Otho Elmer and Mary Nita (Craig) Hamilton. He married Cheryl Collins on November 19, 1969.

Virgil owned and operated Hamilton Auto Repair for many years and was a member of the Marceline Eagles, Sportsman Club in Sumner, and the Elks and Eagles in Brookfield. Virgil is survived by his daughter Tracy Brantner

Virgil is survived by his daughter Tracy Brantner (Rick),Warrensburg, grandson Weston Brantner (Brooke), Warrensburg, two brothers, Bill Hamilton (Rosemary), Marceline, Charlie Hamilton, Brunswick, two sisters, Ethel Anita Carriker, state of Arkansas, Parthina Hamilton, Brookfield, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cheryl, brothers Elmer E., James L., Lavern, Clarence and Jerry, and one sister in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday,

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with visitation starting at 9 AM. Eagles session of sorrow is at 10:45 AM and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Marceline. Memorials may be made to Elmwood Cemetery and mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N.
