Wallace Wayne “Barney” Borron, ag 84 of Bucklin, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Life Care Center of Brookfield. He was born April 9, 1938 in Kirksville, MO to Tracy Nolan and Clarice Venita (Clapp) Borron. He married Carolyn Sue Wilson on June 21, 1959 at Bucklin, and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2021.
Barney drove a milk truck route and worked for various famers as a young man. He worked for Johnson Brothers Oil Co. of Bucklin, Martin Oil Co. of Wright City, Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, selfemployed carpenter, was an Agent of Cameron and Farmers Mutual Insurance Companies, and later served as secretary of Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. of Meadville, then was employed as head of maintenance at Bucklin R-II Schools until his retirement in 2003. On his farm, he raised cattle and spent much of his summer in the hayfield.
He was a member of the former Twin Oaks Gun Club of Odessa, MO. His hobbies included photography, woodworking, watching NASCAR, and vacationing in Branson, taking in as many music shows as they could fit into each day. His love of classic country music (the kind with a fiddle and a steel guitar) started at a very young age and continued his entire life. He liked a family music session as he enjoyed singing and playing guitar. He had fond memories of attending New Boston Christian Church with his family as a young boy.
Barney is survived by two daughters, Lori Davis and Bob, and Nancy Williams and Keith, all of Bucklin, three grandson, Jordan Williams and Tiffany, Nathan Davis and Jill, and Ben Williams, six great grandchildren, Henry Wayne and Wesley Williams and Riley, Easton, Wyatt and Joseph Wayne Davis, sister Emily Switzer and Carrol, brother Larry Borron and Delores, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, infant brother Arthur, brother Richard, and his father and mother-in-law, Ted and Orpha Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Delaney Funeral Home in Bucklin with burial in Masonic Cemetery, Bucklin. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, June 10th at the funeral home in Bucklin. Memorials may be made to City of Bucklin for care of Masonic Cemetery and mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N.
